About the Society...
Sidmouth Arts Club Operatic Society (SACOS) is an amatuer group, originally formed in 1922, committed to staging musical theatre in Sidmouth. We exist to provide both entertainment for audiences in the Manor Pavilion Theatre and as an outlet for the considerable amatuer talent that exists in this part of East Devon.
We usually produce two shows each year, the principle one being at Easter, together with a 'smaller' one in Autumn. We are always glad to see new faces and anyone interested in being either on the stage, or behind the scenes, will be made very welcome.

You can help the society in a number of different capacities:
As an Acting Member
If you wish to appear in our productions you will become a member upon the payment of an annual subscription of £15.
Family Acting Members
If you wish to appear in our productions you will become a member upon the payment of an annual subscription of £20.
As a Junior Member
If you are under 16 years the annual membership is £5. Your appearance on stage will be subject to 'Children in Performance' regulations. Acceptance as an acting member does not necessarily mean you will be included in every show cast, it just depends on the requirements of each show. We stage two productions per year.
As an Associate Member ( non-acting)
We are always on the lookout for behind the scene helpers as well. Associate membership will entitle you to our newsletter and priority bookings for all our shows. Annual fee is £10.
As a Vice President
The annual fee is £20 and Vice-Presidents receive the members newsletters, have their name printed in the programme, and are invited to social events.
Friends of the Society
Box Office takings rarely cover the cost of productions of our shows. By becoming a Friend of SACOS you will be making a valuable and vital contribution, and with your support we will be able to entertain you for many years to come.
